Sound Shrine: Bio

Sound Shrine - blends the inspirational original lyrics and world instrumentation of Angelica along with her husband Evan’s handcrafted Didgeridoos as well as native flutes and Tibetan bowls (along with Guest musicians) to create a unique blend of world beat fusion/conscious Hip-Hop/Singer Songwriter/and Tribal Trance.

Angelica and Evan Perman use their background in the healing arts to lead the audience through a Musical Ritual of sound healing by playing instruments sometimes on and around audience members and inviting them to participate in singing along, chanting, dancing, toning, light percussion and meditative moments.

Audience members have expressed feeling: uplifted, reported stress relief, pain reduction greater clarity and creatively inspired from being a part of Sound Shrine's Interactive Musical Rituals.

Sound Shrine’s music leads the audience on journey of healing, and environmental and spiritual activation.

Angelica - Lead Goddess - Vocals, Hammer Dulcimer, Guitar, programming and percussion instruments

Angelica has the ability to move her listeners through a full spectrum of emotion with her multi-dimensional voice which has an unusual quality of a nurturing & clear resonance as well as powerful depth. Her original lyrics are layered with a message of awakening, hope and activation.  She also has been known to get the audience to sing along and improvises in tribal jams where she uses her humor and insight to share. People have described her performances as inspirational, powerful and her voice and lyrics as authentic, and thought-provoking. She began writing songs at the age of seven but it would be later in life that she would find her musical calling. In 2003 she entered the spoken word scene in Los Angeles and began playing with world musicians and percussionists. In 2005 she along with her 16 piece tribal orchestra "Cosmic Dream Tribe" performed at The World Sacred Music Festival - Sounds of the Sacred. Since than Angelica and "Sound Shrine" has performed at: Agape, H2Olive, The Parliament for World Religions - LA Event, Fundraisers, Events and Private Parties. Angelica's influences are vast but to name a few: Bob Marley, Lauren Hill, Cheryl Crow, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Sarah Mclachlan, Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians, Dead Can Dance, Annie Lenox, Tracy Chapman, Janis Joplin, Alanis Morrisette, Alison Moyet, Donna Delory, Anugama, Pink Floyd and countless others . Angelica and Sound Shrine have just released their Debut CD: "Trailblazer".

Evan Perman - Didgeridoo, Back Up Vocals, Flute, Ambient Sounds

Evan Perman is a healing artist who after many years of doing massage therapy professionally integrates bodywork with spiritual counseling, empowering people through health and healing.  Evan is also a sound-healing practitioner, playing sound vibrations on the body therapeutically.  He uses indigenous musical instruments such as his own handcrafted didgeridoos, as well as native drums, shakers, flutes, bowls, gongs etc. This a shamanic healing practice – Deeply rooted in ancient earth medicine with the primal power to transform heal and rebalance one’s physical, emotional and mental frequencies.  Through energetic clearing and activation the natural state of harmonic balance in the body can be restored.  Evan also creates sound meditation for group work and performs with his wife Angelica in their band Sound Shrine.
